Screening and Scheduling

This policy establishes the rules and procedures for initial screening, scheduling of legal consultations and respective conditions.

1. Initial Screening (Free)

Initial screening is intended for a preliminary and summary assessment of the case's fit within the Attorney's practice areas. WHAT SCREENING IS: • Summary analysis of the presented situation • Verification of fit within practice areas • Identification of potential conflicts of interest • Indication of recommended next steps WHAT SCREENING IS NOT: • Legal consultation • Legal advice • Analysis of the merits of the case • Guarantee of case acceptance • Creation of attorney-client relationship HOW IT WORKS: 1. Fill out the contact form with a summary description 2. Wait for response within 48-72 business hours 3. You will receive indication of fit and next steps 4. If applicable, you will be invited to schedule a consultation

2. Legal Consultation

Legal consultation constitutes provision of legal services, for a fee, and involves individualized case analysis. MODALITIES: • In-person consultation (Lisbon) • Video conference consultation (Google Meet/Zoom) • Phone consultation (specific cases) DURATION: • Initial consultation: 45-60 minutes • Follow-up consultation: 30-45 minutes WHAT'S INCLUDED: • Detailed case analysis • Clarification of legal questions • Identification of options and strategies • Indication of necessary documentation • Cost and timeline estimate (when applicable) RECOMMENDED PREPARATION: • Organize relevant facts chronologically • Prepare list of specific questions • Have relevant documents available (do not send before) • Note important names, dates and values

3. Fees

Fees are defined in accordance with the Bar Association Statute and communicated prior to scheduling. INITIAL CONSULTATION: • Value: communicated after screening • Payment: in advance, at time of scheduling • Methods: bank transfer, MB Way, card REFUND POLICY: • Cancellation >48h before: full refund • Cancellation 24-48h before: 50% refund or free rescheduling • Cancellation <24h: no refund, rescheduling subject to availability • No-show: no refund NOTE: Consultation fees are independent of any engagement of legal services. In case of engagement, partial or full deduction of consultation value from service fees may apply, as agreed.

4. Scheduling and Rescheduling

SCHEDULING: • Availability: Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm • Minimum scheduling: 48 hours in advance • Confirmation: sent by email after payment RESCHEDULING: • Free if requested >48h in advance • Subject to schedule availability • Maximum of 2 reschedulings per consultation DELAYS: • 10-minute tolerance • After 10 minutes, consultation may be cancelled • Attorney delay: time compensated or free rescheduling CANCELLATION BY ATTORNEY: • In case of impossibility, priority rescheduling will be offered • If preferred, full refund

Important Notice

Scheduling a consultation does not guarantee case acceptance nor creates an attorney-client relationship. This relationship is only established through execution of a service agreement and payment of agreed fees.
